Protective Coatings

Protective Coatings are what our business is all about. There are many types of Protective Coatings, ranging from low film build fluoropolymers, epoxy’s and molybdenum disulphide (moly) coatings to high build Zinc’s, Inorganic Zinc’s, Epoxy’s, Polyurethane’s or Polysiloxane’s through to Powder Coating, Phosphates and Passivates. At Doogood we expertly apply all of the above, plus many more.

Protective Coatings are exactly that. Designed for protection of metals from corrosion, heat, fire, chemical attack, graffiti, weathering or whatever the environment may be, generally there is a coating or coating system that can give your product a better performance and extended service life, converting to overall cost savings.

Typical systems for low tolerance applications could include a Phosphate, Primer or Zinc Plate base, combined with a flouropolymer, epoxy or moly topcoat to provide maximum protection, with a low-film build (ranging from 5-50 microns) depending on the application.

For applications where coating thickness is not an issue, a 2, 3 or 4 coat system including High Build Zinc’s, Epoxy’s and Polyurethanes (ranging from 100-1000 microns) could be more applicable.

There are a wide variety of options in regards to coating systems, at Doogood we can either help you specify a suitable system or coat to specifications provided.
